Love Is Hell,Book Review

Love is Hell, by Melissa Marr, Scott Westerfeld, Justine Larbalestier, Gabrielle Zevin, and Laurie Faria Stolarz.
I finished this book in the summer and I loved it. It's 5 short stories by some of the best authors. I've read Melissa Marr and Scott Westerfeld's novels, but the others I havn't yet heard of so I picked up the book and read it. Each short story is page-turning...you won't stop reading! Okay, so I am going to review each short-story.
Sleeping With The Spirit, by Laurie Faria Stolarz
It's about a girl who's new in town and later finds out she lives in a haunted house. She falls in love with the ghost who was murdered as a human in her house. It's unpredictable and even gives you shivers. I would put it under mystery and fiction.
Stupid Perfect World, by Scott Westerfeld
I've read Scott's Uglies series and found out that in this story he also has a future vibe going on. Which I think is unique and interesting. It's about teens who (in the future) take a class called "Scarcity" and have a project to discover the illness of the ancient past (like our world right now). My favorite were the characers who choose sleep & hormones. They find the wonders w/o technology and w/o being perfect. I love Scott's writing, he captures stunning and heartful stories. This one was one of my favorites!
Thinner Than Water, by Justine Larbalestier
It's about a girl living in a town where they live diffrently and the townies, including her pearnts have beliefs of fairies, marriage at an early stage, and ending school early. The main character is diffrent, she wants to move/run away to the city and become a doctor. Her pearnts disapprove, but as the story unfolds she meets a strange boy (who her pearnts tell her to stay away from) and falls in love with him. But later discovers the truth. The story was mysterious and unexpected, I liked it!
   Fan Fictions, by Gabrielle Zevin
It's about a normal/always in the middle girl who later falls in love with a character who might/ or might not be real! This story was confusing to me, I guess I misunderstood it. The ending also through me off, it seemed unfinished, and I was waiting for more because the ending confused me.
  Love Struck, by Melissa Marr
I've also read Melissa Marr's Wicked Lovely Series, and she always has this interesting fantasy theme. This short story was about a girl who falls in love with a mystical creature, she has never felt real love. So when she's in love she has a hard time discovering what's real and what's magic. Like all of Marr's characters, they are so real. I like the main character, Alana..she is very thoughtful and unique.
Overall, I loved this book. It's worth the read, especially if you like short stories and don't have much time on your hands. I've also discovered other authors, which I'm eager to discover thier other novels.
